le conseil exécutif et le conseil de coordination tiennent à vous partager les informations suivantes, relativement au Congrès Femmes des 24-25 Mars prochains.

Quorum et tenue du Congrès

Nous sommes à près d'une semaine du congrès Femmes et, malgré nos efforts, le nombre d'inscriptions de délégations d'associations étudiantes et de Comités Femmes locaux est beaucoup trop faible pour espérer avoir Quorum à cette instance.

Nous tenons à rappeler que, depuis son adoption, le Congrès Femmes n'a eu Quorum qu'une seule fois, en 2016, et c'était pour une seule des deux journées du congrès.

Toutefois, tel que mentionné dans le 3e point de l'article 16 des statuts et règlements (Chapitre 4), "Le Congrès [Femmes] se veut une formule hybride entre une instance décisionnelle et un espace de formation et d’échange entre les femmes membres de l’ASSÉ.".

Comme il l'a été fait l'an passé avec le congrès femmes, le conseil exécutif ne va pas annuler la tenue de l'instance faute de Quorum. Si l'absence de Quorum est bel et bien constatée, les journées du congrès serviront d'espace de réflexions et de discussions entre les femmes présentes.

Le conseil exécutif fait également ici même un appel large aux militantes désirant collaborer à l'organisation des ateliers de discussion et de réflections qui auront lieu au congrès femmes.

Nous tenons également à rappeler que conformément à la modification des statuts et règlements de l'ASSÉ adoptée cet automne, "toute association membre de l’ASSÉ qui ne se présente ni s’inscrit a trois instances décisionnelles nationales de suite se voit suspendre son statut de membre jusqu’au moment où l’association renouvelle sa participation dans les instances nationales. "

Lieu et transparence financière

En ce qui concerne le lieu du congrès femmes, le conseil exécutif a pris la résolution au début de son mandat de ne pas facturer plus de 60$ par personne par association étudiante pour les frais de participations à une instance autre que le transport. Vous comprendrez qu'une instance peut coûter très cher, surtout quand le nombre de participantes est faible.

Vù le faible nombre d'inscriptions, le conseil de coordination a pris la décision de tenir le congrès à la Ferme pédagogique Marichel, à Sainte-Agathe-de-Lotbinière (Le même endroit qu'au camp de formation féministe de cet automne). Cet endroit nous facture en fonction du nombre de personnes présentes et non un montant forfaitaire, ce qui permet de faire des économies considérables pour les plus petites associations étudiantes, et pour l'ASSÉ.

Concrètement, le conseil exécutif estime la facture envoyée aux associations étudiantes d'un congrès femmes à la ferme Marichel à 30$ par personne, alors que le congrès femmes de l'an passé aura coûté environ 120$ par personne.
Ceci constitue des économies d'environ 75% de la facture d'instance du Congrès Femmes par rapport à celle de l'an passé.
Également, le transport sera fait par covoiturage des différentes délégations

Hello comrades,

The Executive Council and the Coordinating Council would like to share with you the following information regarding the Women's Congress of March 24-25.

Quorum and Congress

We are almost a week away from the Women's Congress and, despite our efforts, the number of student association delegations and Local Women's Committees is far too small to expect to have Quorum at this instance.

We wish to recall that, since its adoption, the Women's Congress has only had Quorum once, in 2016, and it was for only one of the two days of the Congress.

However, as mentioned in the 3rd point of article 16 of the statutes and regulations (Chapter 4), "The [Women's] Congress is a hybrid formula between a decision-making body and a space for training and exchange between women members of ASSÉ . "

As was done last year with the women's convention, the executive council is not going to cancel the proceedings for lack of Quorum. If the absence of Quorum is well established, the congress days will serve as a space for reflection and discussion between the women present.

The executive council is also making a large appeal here to activists wishing to collaborate in the organization of the discussion and reflection workshops that will take place at the women's conference.

We would also like to remind you that in accordance with the amendment of the ASSÉ's statutes and by-laws adopted this fall, "any association member of the ASSÉ that does not appear or register to three national decision-making bodies in a row is suspended its status until the association renews its participation in national bodies. "

Location and financial transparency

With regard to the women's convention site, the executive council took the resolution at the beginning of its mandate not to charge more than $ 60 per person per student association for the costs of participation in a proceeding other than transportation. You will understand that an instance can be very expensive, especially when the number of participants is low.

In view of the low number of registrations, the Coordinating Council made the decision to hold the congress at the Marichel Pedagogical Farm in Sainte-Agathe-de-Lotbinière (the same place as at the feminist training camp this fall). This place charges us according to the number of people present and not a lump sum, which allows to make considerable savings for the smallest student associations, and for the ASSÉ.

In concrete terms, the executive board estimates the invoice sent to the student associations of a women's congress at the Marichel farm at $ 30 per person, while the women's convention last year cost about $ 120 per person.
This represents savings of approximately 75% of the congressional women's meeting bill compared to last year.
Also, the transport will be done by carpool of the different delegations
