On March 30,
Palestinians will commemorate Land Day, and the global campaign
for Boycott Divestment and Sanctions (BDS), to end Israeli
occupation, colonialism, and apartheid.
More than forty years after the first Land Day demonstrations,
Israel continues its expropriation and colonization of
Palestinian land. Israel continues to expand its illegal
settlements in occupied Palestinian territory, forcing
Palestinians from their land. Palestinians have continued their
resistance despite the immense repression they face from Israel.
Instead of weakening popular resistance through assassinations,
raids on student unions and popular organizations, house
demolitions, mass arrests of journalists, activists, and youth,
this wave of popular resistance is expanding to every corner of
occupied Palestine.
As international support for Israeli apartheid is weakening,
Israel is attempting to silence dissent internally and
internationally. The most recent waves of anti-BDS measures in
France, the United Kingdom, the USA and Canada show the
desperation of the Apartheid regime and its allies in the face
of a growing *pressure through the Boycott, Divestment and
Sanctions movement. Let us work together to intensify our
collective efforts to hold Israel and its supporters accountable
for its its continued colonization of Palestinian land. Let us
also collectively support resistance to ongoing colonization and
land expropriation, from Turtle Island to Palestine.
For international supporters of the Palestinian struggle for
freedom, justice and equality, Land Day is an opportunity to
develop campaigns for Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions against
Israel, particularly campaigns targeting Israeli agribusinesses
and companies operating in illegal Israeli settlements- such as
HP, AirBnB and Bombardier- all of which play a vital role in the
continued theft of Palestinian land.
This Land Day, Tadamon! is calling for a rally to show that
people will continue to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian
people through Boycott Divestment and Sanctions. From Turtle
Island to Palestine, there is no justice on stolen land!
