Action de Demilitarize McGill dans le cadre du jour du Souvenir

Ce mardi 11 novembre, soldats et canons envahiront le campus de
McGill dans le cadre de la cérémonie annuelle du jour du Souvenir.
En guise de commémoration des horreurs de la guerre,
invariablement cet évènement tourne à la glorification des guerres
impérialistes menées pour la « liberté », et contribue à
l'idéologie dominante de militarisme qui permet à l'Université
McGill de poursuivre sa complicité dans la guerre.
Nous vous invitons à nous joindre à l'intersection « Y » (entrer
dans le campus au Portail Roddick coin Sherbrooke/McGill College,
et continuer jusqu'à la fourche) mardi à 9h30. Nous partagerons
des informations sur les aspects de la guerre effacés par cette
cérémonie nationaliste : le génocide des peuples autochtones, les
atrocités de l'impérialisme occidental, l'impunité des militaires
canadien.ne.s, le contrôle violent des frontières coloniales, et
les gains illimités des fabricants d'armes. Il y a possibilité
d'une action légèrement perturbatrice.

Demilitarize McGill Remembrance Day Action

McGill University (details below)
This Tuesday, November 11, soldiers and cannons will invade McGill
campus as part of the annual Remembrance Day ceremony. This event,
though ostensibly a commemoration of the horrors of war, is
invariably a glorification of imperialist wars fought for
'freedom,' and contributes to the dominant narrative of militarism
that allows McGill University's complicity in war to continue.
We invite you to join us at the Y-intersection (enter campus
through the Roddick Gates at Sherbrooke/McGill College, and
continue until the fork in the road), starting at 9:30am on
Tuesday, where we will be sharing information on the elements of
conflict erased from this nationalist ceremony: the genocide and
displacement of Indigenous peoples, the atrocities of Western
imperialism, violent impunity on the part of Canadian soldiers,
the repressive policing of colonial borders, and the endless
profits of defense contractors. There is the possibility of a
small-scale disruption.
