Bonjour camarades racisé-es,
Nous voulons entendre vos voix, trop souvent invisibilisées par la blancheur du mouvement étudiant et par la société colonialiste dans laquelle nous vivons. Nous faisons un appel de textes, sous la forme de témoignages, brefs ou longs, sans limites de mots.
Lâchez-vous! Parlez-nous de vos expériences au sein du mouvement étudiant ou dans la vie en général en tant que personnes racisées, de couleurs, autochtones, immigrantes ou issues de l’immigration. Ces textes peuvent être anonymes ou signés sous un pseudonyme. Vous pourriez ainsi parler du racisme ordinaire, de l’invisibilisation des personnes racisées dans leur implication, de nos cultures effacées, des inégalités économiques, de discrimination à l’emploi, de façons de s’organiser et de lutter, et bien plus encore!
L’objectif serait de faire un recueil de témoignages afin de les présenter au Congrès d’orientation de l’ASSÉ du 3 et 4 décembre prochain. Nous voudrions ainsi réaffirmer la nécessité d’un Comité ad hoc antiraciste, mais de façon plus large, aborder nos enjeux et nos réalités pour qu’elles prennent la place qu’elles méritent.
La date limite est le 20 novembre de sorte à avoir le temps de faire la mise en page et de laisser le temps aux associations étudiantes de le consulter avant le Congrès. Vous pouvez envoyer vos textes à antiraciste@asse-solidarite.qc.ca. Si vous êtes une personne blanche, soyez des allié-es et faites circuler l’information!

Dear comrades of color,
We wish to hear your voices, too often silenced by the whiteness of the student movement and the colonialist society in which we live. We’re launching a call for papers, in the form of testimonials. They can be short or long, there’s no word limit.
Let loose! Tell us about your experiences in the student movement or in life in general as a racialized person, PoC, Indigenous, or immigrant. These texts can be anonymous or signed with a pseudonym. You can freely talk about everyday racism, the invisibilization of racialized people’s involvement, of our erased cultures, of economic inequality, of workplace discrimination, of ways to organize and struggle, and much more.
The idea is to present a collection of testimonials to the ASSÉ Orientation Congress this December 3rd and 4th. We seek to reiterate the need for an ad hoc Anti-racist Committee, but also to broaden the discourse so as to include our issues and realities so that they may be given the importance they deserve.
The deadline is November 20th, so that we may format the document and give student associations the time they need to consult it before the Congress. You may send your texts to antiraciste@asse-solidarite.qc.ca. If you’re a white person reading this, be an ally and share this information!
