Bonjour,

Voici plus d’informations sur le congrès femmes, qui aura lieu les 2-3 mars prochains à partir de 9h, au collège Lionel-Groulx, à Ste-Thérèse.

D’abord, comme nous avons reçu quelques questions sur l’historique de cette instance et l’objectif de sa non-mixité, nous joignons à ce courriel un court document qui explique l’objectif et l’origine de ce congrès.

Également, après avoir fait un bilan des trois derniers congrès femmes et en avoir discuté avec plusieurs associations étudiantes, nous avons choisi de proposer une formule un peu différente pour le congrès de cette année qui, nous l’espérons, saura vous plaire! Ainsi, nous proposons de faire de cet événement un hybride entre un camp de formation et un congrès plus formel, en prévoyant pour la journée du samedi deux à trois ateliers sur des enjeux féministes, ainsi que des discussions plus informelles sur le féminisme, l’intersectionnalité, la grève des stages et les structures de l’ASSÉ. Ce sera également l’occasion de réfléchir et de commencer la rédaction de textes de réflexion en vue du congrès annuel, où la question de la dissolution vs la restructuration de l’ASSÉ est à l’ordre du jour.

Le dimanche pourra ensuite permettre la tenue d’une séance formelle de congrès. Il sera notamment possible de faire des propositions sur les enjeux discutés la veille ou encore de soumettre toute forme de proposition concernant l’ASSÉ. En effet, le congrès femmes est maintenant un congrès au même titre que tous les autres et peut ainsi prendre des décisions sur tous les sujets concernant l’ASSÉ. Nous invitons donc toutes les associations étudiantes à déposer des propositions en vue du congrès!

Here is further information about the Women's Congress, which will take place on March 2-3 beginning at 9 a.m. at Collège Lionel-Groulx, in Ste-Thérèse.

Firstly, as we’ve received some questions about the history of this congress as well as about the motivations for its non-mixity, we’ve attached a short document that explains the objective and origin of the Women’s Congress.

Also, after reviewing the track records for the last three Women's Congresses and discussing with several member associations, we have chosen to propose a slightly different schedule for this year's congress, which we hope you will enjoy! Indeed, we’re proposing a hybrid between a training camp and a more formal congress by scheduling two to three workshops on feminist issues for Saturday, along with more informal discussions on feminism, intersectionality, the internship strike and ASSÉ’s structures. It will also be an opportunity to reflect on and begin writing letters of reflection for the upcoming annual conference; the issue of dissolution vs. restructuring of the ASSÉ is on the agenda.

Sunday would then be used to hold the actual congress. Delegates will then have the opportunity of submitting proposals in relation with issues discussed the day before or any other subject concerning the ASSÉ. The Women's Congress is indeed a full congress in the same way as the others and can therefore take decisions on all matters concerning the ASSÉ. We therefore invite all student associations to submit proposals for the congress!
