#cinqansdeja / 5-years already!

Together we mobilised the Concordia campus much before the strike was launched / ran around to make general assemblies happen / wrote strike mandates and voted in the GAs / frantically picketed classes / made numerous banners, flyers, signs and pickets / had countless arguments with green squares and neoliberals / worked with amazingly friendly profs & staff / fought and dealt with heavy-handed repression by Concordia administration / shook the campus from the inside with protests and demonstrations / took over Maisonneuve Street for a full week / blocked hall bldg x2 / made history by being the first Anglo institution to join provincial unlimited strike / proudly put Concordia (again)on the activist map / found time to take part in the demonstrations while battling anti-strike students on campus / and it goes on...

Some of us are (still) actively reflecting on how the strike changed us transformed us, on how many of us burnt out from the organizing, from the problematic dynamics and such, on how the Concordia landscape is changed --for better or worse--, on how the strike storm gave a crash course to hundreds of the students otherwise not politicized or involved, about how the whole experience of being involved in the student movement mobilised and radicalised more than a generation of students...

On this five-year mark let us get together for old times' sake, to say hello to each other, to rejoice, to rejuvenate or to simply delve in nostalgia. Some of us do need some time and space to talk about not only the victories but also to reflect upon the bitter-sweet of it.
