Concordia Student Union (CSU) animera un atelier sur le mouvement étudiant et les changements climatiques lors du Forum social des peuples 2014, à l’Université d’Ottawa.

QUOI: «La justice climatique et le movement étudiant»

QUI: Anthony Garoufalis-Auger, VP Externe & Mobilisation, CSU

***La présentation se fera principalement en anglais, mais une traduction en français en temps réel sera disponible sur place lors de l’atelier.

On y exposera d’abord la situation actuelle des changements climatiques et on regardera ce que le mouvement étudiant canadien et québécois fait pour lutter contre ceux-ci. Ensuite, on développera des idées pratiques pour améliorer l’état des choses, et pour encourager les associations étudiantes et leurs membres à en faire plus sur cet enjeu.

Que vous soyez impliquées ou impliqués dans une associations étudiante, une étudiante ou un étudiant, ou simplement une ou un activiste ou quelqu’un de curieux, vous ne voulez pas manquer cet atelier. Venez échanger avec nous et les autres participantes et participants!

L’atelier va se tenir juste après la pause du dîner, après l’assemblée étudiante du matin. Restez pour une journée remplie d’activisme étudiant!

Le Forum social des peuples 2014 se tient à Ottawa, du 21 au 24 août 2014.

The Concordia Student Union (CSU) is hosting a workshop on the student movement and climate change during the Peoples' Social Forum 2014, at the University of Ottawa.

WHEN: From 1 to 4 PM, Saturday August 23^rd, 2014

WHERE: Room 218 of the Morisset Building, University of Ottawa (MRT 218)

WHAT: “Climate Justice and the Student Movement” - Workshop

WHO: Anthony Garoufalis-Auger, VP External & Mobilization, CSU

***The presentation will be primarily done in English, but simultaneous French translation will be available at the workshop.

We’ll first expose the nitty-gritty of climate change and take a look at what the Canadian and Québec student movement is currently doing to tackle it. Then, we’ll flesh out practical ideas to improve upon the situation, and encourage student unions and their members to do more on the issue.

Regardless of whether you are involved in a student union, a student, or simply an activist or someone curious, you don’t want to miss this workshop. Come exchange with us and the other participants!

The workshop will take place right after the lunch break, following the student assembly in the morning. Stay around for a day filled with student activism!
