Il a été l’un des principaux leaders des mobilisations des étudiants (grèves, manifestations massives, occupation des locaux et multiples activités créatives de sensibilisation publique et de lobbeyng politique,) qui ont secoué le Chili en 2011 durant plus de sept mois. Camilo Ballesteros is a leading student-activist at the University of Santiago of Chile (active since 2009), president of the student federation of the university (FEUSACH) in 2011, and member of the directing committee of the Confederation of students of Chile (CONFECH) - a group that that brings together all of the students in Chile.
