POLITICS & CARE : A project
6 mois;
(now in english)
The project officially started in relations to the student strike, where it
became evident that working on individual and collective well-being in
activist circles was urgent.
However, we are very aware that this goes beyong the social "crisis" that
came with the student mouvement and we wish to offer/create spaces where we
can think and politicize the notion of caring.
By "caring", we mean the affectif work that is being done in our
communities (such as acting as confidents, mediation, conflict resolution,
active listening, etc.)
that is crucial to the sustainability of our actions, but that is largely
being ignored or non valued.
Concretely, in this first phase of the project, we are now offering
workshops (more on that below if you want details) with groups to identify
our needs, discuss and share our strategies, success and difficulties
relating to self-care and collective well-being. In addition, we have the
immense pleasure of having with us until the end of August Yvonne Deustch,
an israeli feminist peace activist who can share with us relaxation and
stress and trauma managing practices that link body and mind. She can also
share with us her immense activist experience (more on her and the
practices below, if you would like details).
